I have trained with Susan for almost a year now and have nothing but good things to say. Kayla Mehr is Boston’s premier Pre and Postnatal Specialist!

Kayla grew up in an Italian family that used food as a way to come together and socialize. Although she had danced, strength trained, and ran cross country in school, she always struggled with her weight. It wasn’t until college that Kayla decided it was time to make changes in her life. After learning “smarter” ways of working out rather than “harder” and learning more about nutrition, Kayla lost 30 pounds and that is where her passion for health and fitness began.

After college, Kayla moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in Fitness. She began as a Personal Trainer at Equinox in West Hollywood, CA. While she was there, Kayla was hired to train Mickey Rourke during preparation for his role in The Wrestler, as well as other celebrities. She also gained numerous certifications, competed and won her first Bikini Competition and participated in a Triathlon. After a few years, Kayla took her experience and moved back East to be closer to her family.

She has been a Personal Trainer for over 10 years and pre and postnatal certified for 5. She’s worked with tons of expecting moms and when it came time for her to become pregnant she took a harder look at all the conflicting and confusing information out there about working out while pregnant. She dove in and did extensive research and even interviewed doctors, nutritionists and moms to fully understand how working out effects the mom and growing baby. Kayla has created a tried and true pre & postnatal training program that is safe, effective and enjoyable. Not only will she keep you strong throughout pregnancy and prepare you for the marathon of motherhood, but she will help you recover quickly and safely! She also has a huge community in Boston of pre/postnatal recourses and other moms who can help support you every step of the way.

Kayla gave birth to her first son in June 2018. Four and a half months postpartum from a C section, without any dieting, she is back to her pre-bably weight and although very tired and sleep deprived, she’s feeling stronger than she could imagine!

From an early age, Naomi had a passion and curiosity for the effects of exercise on the human body. She attributes her initial love for health, fitness and nutrition to her parents, who always demonstrated the importance of activity, team sports and healthy cooking at home.

Naomi holds her BS in Exercise Science and minor in Nutrition from Ithaca College. She is an ACSM certified Personal Trainer, applying what she has learned each and everyday with her clients  In addition to her personal training business, she is a Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, as well as Precision Nutrition level 1.

With each of her clients, Naomi shares the importance of exercise and healthy habits complimenting their hard efforts with healthy eating. Naomi is a true believer in balance when it comes to working out. She believes that to transform your life and achieve ultimate health it is not about losing weight or how many calories you eat each day, rather it is about changing your outlook on how you see exercise and food. Erica Soma is a young fitness entrepreneur and has been personal training and teaching in the Boston area for over seven years privately and with Boston Sports Club, Equinox, Healthworks, and other fitness studios. Erica works primarily with pre/postnatal clients and brings her years of expertise and unique background to create the most effective and safe workouts for your changing body and growing baby. She has completed specialized certifications in pre/postnatal specific to personal training and Stott Pilates, has published peer- reviewed research on the topic of exercise during pregnancy, and interned 200 hours with Isis Parenting including childbirth education. She is also currently studying to become a Registered Nurse with clinical experiences in maternity and pediatrics. Not only is Erica highly educated with both a BA and MS in Exercise Science, she brings her years of experience training other pre/postnatal clients. You’ll learn evidence- based safe and effective exercise while managing appropriate weight gain, build strength to help you through labor and new motherhood, and gain insight through Erica’s years of experience of working with women through multiple pregnancies.   

Erica also works with clients on goals including weight loss, injury prevention, and has experience working with scoliosis, diastasis recti, elderly fitness, and blind/visually impaired. She also designs programs for marathons, triathlons and other road races and has coached many Boston Marathon qualifiers.

Erica owns LYFE CYCLE, a spin and bootcamp studio in Roslindale and sees clients by appointment at Saldare. Not only is Erica a successful young business owner, she has completed nine marathons, a full 140.6 Ironman triathlon, and various shorter road and triathlon races. In addition to building strength in the gym, Erica rock climbs and golfs while also enjoying a donut or ice cream here and there!
