Steve Zivich, M.D.
DIRECT PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN
Steve Zivich completed his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Music at the James Madison University in Virginia. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, completed a Surgical Internship at Boston Medical Center and Residency in Family Medicine in 2015 at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After completion of his training, Steve returned to Boston to work at Community Health Center.
The most rewarding part of being a physician is making a positive difference in my patients’ lives. I always enjoyed the time I spend with my patients, but I found that the barriers and restrictions placed by insurance companies was preventing me being the doctor I sought out to be.
Steve was ecstatic to find a new style of medical practice called Direct Primary Care (DPC) that would allow him to focus on the doctor-patient relationship. DPC allows for quality time with his patients, without having to rush through visits or adjust necessary medical therapies based simply on what insurance dictated. This allows Steve to keep the focus on where health care belongs: on you, the patient.
Steve’s areas of special interest include preventative health and management of chronic illnesses, including HIV; metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity; sports-related injuries; and caring for patients in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender communities.
Steve is excited to be a part of the lives of the patients of Boston Direct Health, and to finally be able to be the family doctor that he have always wanted to be and that you deserve.
